The Faramir_fics community


I have given things a lot of thought and regretfully I must look for someone to take over the [info]faramir_fics  community.

When I took it over I had every intention to try and get new life into the community. There was a lot of interest in having more challenges, especially art ones and I had always planned to run a banner challenge and give the site a make over based on the winning entry.

Unfortunately I have been unable to dedicate the time to this as well and the community has become quieter and quieter.

Is there anyone out there who would like to take over (or at the very least help me co-moderate) [info]faramir_fics  so that it can be given a new lease of life?

I post this post with great sadness. I love this community dearly, and it is hard for me to give it up. But it is not fair to let it suffer because I can not give it the attention it deserves.

I hope that by giving up this community I can find the motivation and some time to start writing again and so I can continue to be part of it.

If you can't find anybody else I'd step in....although I just gave away some comms of my own since I lack time and motivation.

But I'd hate to see this comm vanish

Hi Bijou. Sorry I never responded to this, but well I've had a few issues going on at the moment and it causes me to shut off from the world for long periods of time.

Anyway, thanks very much for the offer. caras_galadhon and savageseraph very kindly offered to take over the community but I'm very happy for you to be involved in the community as well if would like to be.

so I'm glad you got some volunteers since I wouldn't be able to do a lot!

Hiya. After some discussion with [info]savageseraph, and at the risk of sounding like we're buying up all the land in Gondor (we took [info]gondorcest off [info]bijou69's hands late last year, and we've run [info]sons_of_gondor from the beginning), we'd be happy to take over [info]faramir_fics if you would like us to.

Hi, sorry. I completely disappeared on you!!

If you are still interested, I would love it if you could take over faramir_fics. Foxrafer was also interested, I've just dropped her a message to see if she still wants to or not. Perhaps if she does you'd be happy to co-moderate with her as well?

I think a mod-team would be good.

No problem! I know how life can get. ^_^

We're absolutely still interested! And both [info]savageseraph and I are very fond of [info]foxrafer, so if she would like to co-mod with us, I can't imagine that'd be a problem. (Conversely, if she'd rather take the helm alone, I don't think either of us would want to stand in her way.) Anyway, long story short, we're happy to take [info]faramir_fics on in whatever capacity you feel would be best for the community.

In that case I would love to formally hand over Faramir_fics to yourself and savageseraph if I may :)

It's going to be so hard giving up the community but now if definately the time for someone to give it care and attention.

We'd be honoured, and I know we'll both try our damnedest to live up to your trust in us. Let me know how you'd like to proceed with the hand-off; I can imagine how difficult it must be, so I want to make sure it's a smooth, comfortable transition for you.

And thank you again. We'll do our best to look after [info]faramir_fics and keep it rolling along for a long time to come. ^_^

I'm happy for you to take it over straight away and do whatever you think is right for the community. I have worked closely with margot_iris and minxkat from the Faramir Fiction Archive during my time as moderator in the community and I would hope that this relationship between the two sites continues.

I've added you both as maintainers. I'd like to put a post on the community tonight and say goodbye. After that, it is all yours.

Of course, I'm not going completely. I hope that I'll be able to start writing again and that I can contribute to the community, and of course should you wish to discuss anything with my you are more than welcome.

(My apologies for being slow to answer; things have been a wee bit hectic around here.)

Absolutely, we have every intention of continuing the relationship [info]faramir_fics has with the Archive. I couldn't imagine the comm any other way.

Thank you so much for running such a fine community and for your trust in us. We'll do our best to live up to the standards you've set. It's always a little awkward to ask, but did you want one of us to remove you as maintainer, or...? Thank you so very much for being open to discussing comm management in the future, and we really look forward to seeing you start writing and contributing again. ^_^

Hey, I've been in a bit of denial over this comment I thnk which is why I've taken so long to reply. However yes, I'm now happy for you to remove me as maintainer. :)
